Cheapest real protection: Ringke Fusion $16. Sixth-best of 50, passes face-first drop test. What $16 doesn’t buy is buttons.
Slim: Ridge case is $75. Half the slim cases fail face-first. Ridge is the only really slim one that passes everything. Benks and Pitaka fail face-first
Camera Lump: Rhinoshield MOD NX $30. Top 3 for camera drops, tallest lip of all 50. Make sure you get the backplate
Stand: Tough Armor $25. Only 3 of 7 stand cases beat average. Every Torras and ESR stand case is below it. Passes face-first, full magnet array, real camera button
MagSafe-heavy: Rokform $70 for mounts, twice the pull of anything else, but squishy buttons and 123 g. Peak Design Gnar $60 for wallets and grips, best buttons here, no lip, fails face-first
Do not buy: Rugged cases are honey traps. 6 of 8 rugged cases are worse than average. ESR Cyber, Pelican, Defender, Supcase are the four worst corner drops of 50. Lifted-truck energy.
