I spent the last two months testing over a dozen ultraportable laptops to find the best lightweight laptop options in 2026, and I’m sharing everything I learned in this video. Whether you’re looking for a thin and light laptop for travel, a portable computer for college, or just want something that won’t kill your back in a messenger bag, I’ve got you covered with real-world battery tests, performance benchmarks, and honest thoughts on build quality. I tested options across different price points from budget ultrabooks to premium lightweight notebooks, so there’s something here no matter your budget. We’ll look at which models actually deliver on their battery claims, which ones have the best keyboards for long typing sessions, and whether spending extra on the lightest laptops actually makes sense for most people.

Who actually needs this much battery life?
nice ad 😂
Asus?
A Macbook may be good, but obviously there are disadvantages it has, others on the list do not have. The value for money is only a 9, if you forget about with how much ram and what ssd the basis model comes. And if you uprade, Apple is charging you insane amounts of money. You can easily double or tripple the price of a Macbook Air while configurating and your ram and ssd is still mid compared to other models that come with 1TB for 1000 dollars or make it possible to upgrade that afterwards yourself, what you also can’t do on a Macbook. Also you can’t repair the most silly stuff. The battery may be good, but every battery gets worse over time, and when the Macbook’s battery’s dead you have to switch the keyboard too, because all is glued together. If you very likely can’t do that yourself, pay Apple to do it. Or get any other Laptop, like a gram, unscrew a couple of screws, open the bottom and replace it yourself. All those things are also hidden costs that make a Macbook in a solid configuration and during the time of using much more expensive. I’d get a macbook if Apple’s price policy wouldn’t be that insane and capitalistic though. I would even go that far saying, that once you really dare to upgrade the ssd and ram to a level that’s solid for a computer science major, it’s pretty much the worst value you can get for your money. Apple is making so much money with ram and ssd that you can upgrade a Macbook Pro up to 11.000 dollars. There is no way to justify that. If you need more, and most people that really NEED a Macbook as a Laptop do, the value for money is below dogshit.
