  1. If you want a camera that checks pretty much most of the points mentioned in this video get the Sony A6700. It has a 26 megapixels APS-C size sensor which already gives you 1.5 times more reach than full frame. It’s literally the best of all worlds: compact size, light weight and still comparably affordable in the camera world while still offering most of the modern features the camera world has to offer.

It can shoot in 4k 120 FPS 4:2:2 10 bit video (if you get at least a V60 SD card) and can capture photos with 11 FPS in burst mode (for this a V30 SD card is enough). It has 759 contrast and phase detection auto focus covering over 90% of the sensor. It also has subject detection for humans, animals, birds, insects, cars, airplanes and trains. The 5 stops IBIS also comes in really handy even if you’re only shooting photos as it works in conjunction with the image stabilisation that you might have in your lens. If your lens has no stabilisation built in the IBIS takes care of that. On top you also get weather sealing, magnesium alloy body, a very usable EVF (which you can adjust for either better image quality or higher frame rate up to 120 FPS), good articulating touchscreen and a large battery for good battery life. Of course you get Wifi/Bluetooth, Sonys own app to connect the camera to your phone and also control it from your phone. You can import your own LUTs directly into the camera and see the review of your pictures on the camera’s screen with the LUT applied.

A great compact combo is the A6700 with the Sigma 18-50 F/2.8. The picture quality is out of this world considering the size and price of this setup. If you want to get into the telephoto end of things the Sony 70-350 F/4.5-6-3 which makes for a really small but still really high reach setup. The full frame equivalent to this focal length would be 105 mm to 525 mm and if you get a lens for full frame with that reach you’ll most likely end up with a lens that is already a lot heavier than the A6700 + Sony 70-350 (which comes in around 1.1 kg in weight). You also get a plethora of lens options. The Sony E-Mount has more than 80 Sony lenses to choose from and over 600 lenses overall from various brands from price points starting at as low as 100$. The Viltrox Air series is a great and cheap line of lenses.
