Founded in 1997 by Dr. Wolfgang Klippel, the novel techniques developed for control and measurement systems of loudspeakers and other transducers are the result of over 30 years of fundamental research. This provides more accurate physical models of loudspeakers, micro-speakers and headphones valid for both small and large amplitudes. The focus is on revealing the root causes of signal distortion and defects and giving practical indications for improvements in design and manufacturing of audio products. Kanto ORA4 vs Edifier M90
What is better MR5 or Polk Audio XT20?
Hi! I just found your channel and really wish I had discovered it a little sooner.
I’ve been having a hard time finding good, trustworthy subjective reviews of the Edifier M60s and MR3s because a lot of the people reviewing them aren’t really that familiar with the audio world. I’m really glad I found your review. Not only do I feel like I can trust your subjective impressions based on the many audio products you’ve reviewed, but I also appreciate that you take the time to test them objectively.
Basically, I’ve been looking to get either the Edifier M60s or MR3s. And I’m wondering why who choose not to include the MR3 in this review if your other review says MR3 have better bass.
I downgraded my PC audio setup about three years ago when I got married and started a family. I used to have an amp, a dedicated DAC, and Monitor Audio speakers, but I have much less desk space now—less than 110 cm.
At the moment, I’ve been using my old Bose SoundLink Mini II as a backup speaker. It gets the job done when my wife or kids need to use my PC, but honestly, it’s been pretty painful to listen to for any extended period. 😂 I barely even use speakers anymore since I mostly listen through my headphones.
Recently, though, the Bose has started having problems, so I’ve been thinking about getting a new pair of active speakers. I don’t really want to spend too much on them since I’ll still be using my Chi-Fi DAC and headphones for probably 90% of my listening.
Where I live, Edifiers are relatively affordable. The M60s cost around $83, while the MR3s are around $44. I really like how compact the M60s are, and they would fit my desk perfectly. But I’m wondering: **is the MR3’s larger size and the extra desk space it takes up actually worth it for the improvement in sound quality?**
That’s basically what I’m trying to decide between. I’d really appreciate your thoughts!
In Singapore, the Edifier distributor is very aggressive with pricing. The MR5 is around US$200 and even lesser during sales. So it is kind of a no-brainer to me.
