If you play games like Tarkov or Stellar Blade in 4K and you use tools like scskiller for the shaders you’ll see a G16 maxing out on 32 gigs of ram as well as 8 gigs of VRAM while playing. Therefore longterm and if you play highly demanding games at least for 4K you probably want more than 32 GB of ram.
I’m looking for the best laptop for my work in 2D animation, video editing, drawing, and rendering. I use Moho with MCN rigs for character and scene animation, and I work with scenes containing multiple characters, effects, masks, and layers, with HD and 4K output.
My priorities are GPU first, then CPU, then RAM. I need at least 32GB RAM, preferably 2TB SSD, a good color-accurate display, and compatibility with a drawing tablet/display. Portability is also important.
My budget is around $2,500. Do you think it’s realistic to buy a laptop at this price that can reliably last and remain useful for my work for around 10 years? If so, what specifications should I prioritize to maximize its lifespan?
I’d also appreciate recommendations based on real-world performance, cooling, build quality, upgradeability, reliability, and long-term user experience, rather than specifications alone.
